Terms of Service

Harigami

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Harigami ("the App") provided by 10HALF LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

The App is an iOS and Android application for capturing notices you receive at your apartment building — on the notice board or in your mailbox — from the camera or from Photos, recognizing their text, organizing and searching them, reminding you before due dates, sharing them as PDFs, and exporting your data. Text recognition and date extraction happen on your device. The notices you capture (photos, recognized text, titles, due dates, and so on) are stored in the cloud services we use, such as Google Firebase, to sync them between devices, share them with your family, and deliver reminders. Our use of outside services and how we handle data are explained in the Privacy Policy.

2. Your Account and Transfer Code

• The App creates an account for you automatically when you start fresh. You do not need to register an email address or other details.
• In Settings you can view a "transfer code" that lets you keep using the same account, for example on a new device. The transfer code is for you alone, and you are responsible for keeping it from others. If it may have been disclosed, issue a new one in Settings. We are not responsible for harm caused by your failure to manage it properly.

3. Using the App with Your Family

• With an invitation code you can invite your family to your board (inviting requires Pro, see Section 4) or join your family's board. Once you join, the board's notices (photos, recognized text, due dates, and so on), the members' display names, and who pinned each notice are visible to every member. Any member can add, edit, and delete notices.
• When you join a board, the notices you had move to that board. Whether you leave or the owner removes you, the notices you pinned stay on the family board, and you continue with a new, empty board.
• Share an invitation code only with the family members you want to invite. The board's owner (the person who started it; if the owner leaves, the member who joined earliest takes over) can issue a new code and remove members.

4. Fees and Harigami Pro

• The App's basic features are free. Features described in the App, such as higher limits on how many notices you can keep and how many pages a notice can have, and inviting your family, are offered through a paid subscription, "Harigami Pro" ("Pro").
• Pro is purchased through Apple's in-app purchase on iPhone, or through Google Play billing on Android. The price and period (monthly or yearly) are shown on the purchase screen. Payment is charged to the Apple Account or Google Account used for the purchase.
• Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Unless you cancel, it renews automatically for the same period and price and you are charged for the next period. On the App Store, it renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you are charged within 24 hours before the period ends. On Google Play, it renews and you are charged at the end of the current period unless you cancel before then. You can turn off auto-renew and cancel in your App Store account settings, or in Google Play → Subscriptions. After cancelling, you can keep using Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
• If you are using Pro for the first time with your Apple Account or Google Account, you may be offered a free trial for the period shown on the purchase screen. Unless you cancel before the trial ends (on the App Store, at least 24 hours before), it converts to a paid subscription automatically.
• Pro for a board shared with your family follows the subscription of the board's owner. Family members who join are not charged. If you join a family board while subscribed to Pro yourself, your subscription does not apply to that board and the App Store or Google Play keeps charging you. If you no longer need it, cancel it in the store where you bought it.
• When Pro ends, your notices and the family members already on the board stay, and viewing, searching, editing, deleting, reminders, sharing, and export keep working as before. Pinning new notices beyond the free limit, adding pages beyond the limit, and new family members joining are no longer possible.
• Refunds are subject to the refund policy of the store you bought from (Apple or Google). Deleting your account does not cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. Please make sure to cancel it in the store where you bought it.
• We may change Pro's price or contents. Any price change will be notified following the procedures of each store (App Store, Google Play), and any change to its contents that is unfavorable to subscribers will be announced in advance on this page or in the App.

5. Notices You Capture

• Copyright and any other rights in the notices you capture remain with their authors and rights holders. We acquire no rights in them. We handle notices only as needed to provide the App (storing, syncing, sharing with your family, and delivering reminders).
• You agree to use captured notices within the scope of personal use. If you show a notice to others — by sharing a board with your family or through the sharing feature — you do so at your own responsibility, having regard to its content (including whether it contains personal information such as names or apartment numbers) and any rights in it.
• The App is not an official service of any management company, owners' association, or other organization. Please confirm the accuracy and currency of a notice's content with whoever posted it.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Copy, modify, or redistribute the App without authorization
• Access the App or its servers without authorization, or interfere with their operation
• Use the App for unlawful purposes or in a way that infringes the rights of others
• Engage in any other conduct similar to the above

If you violate this section, we may suspend your use of the App or delete your account without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App (including its design, code, and name) belong to us. As stated in Section 5, rights in the notices you capture and the information you enter do not pass to us.

8. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. When you do, we delete your account information and notices (including photos) from our servers, and your transfer code stops working. However, notices you pinned on a board shared with your family stay on that board for your family. Deleted data cannot be restored. If needed, export your data first with the "Export All" feature.

9. Disclaimer

• We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or safety of the App.
• Text recognition and date extraction are automated and may contain errors or omissions. Always check a suggested due date against the original notice.
• Reminder notifications depend on the state of your device, your network, and operating system behavior (notification settings, power-saving features, and so on) and may be delayed or not delivered. For important deadlines, we recommend using additional means as well.
• We strive to store your data properly, but we do not guarantee that data will never be lost or that the App will never be unavailable because of network or cloud service outages, a lost transfer code, or similar causes. We recommend backing up regularly with the "Export All" feature.
• On a board shared with your family, what any member adds, edits, or deletes applies for every member. We are not responsible for the results of members' actions.
• We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the App, except where caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence.

10. Changes to or Termination of the Service

We may change the App or discontinue it. If we discontinue it, we will announce this on this page or in the App a reasonable time in advance and allow a period in which you can export your data. Pro you have already paid for is handled under the procedures of the store you bought it from (Apple or Google).

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms as needed. Before a revision takes effect, we will announce the revised Terms and the date they take effect on this page or in the App.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
