10HALF LLC ("we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. NeatZip ("the App") is a macOS utility for creating clean ZIP archives. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.
Our basic principle: NeatZip does not collect any personal information. It has no user accounts, shows no ads, and contains no analytics or tracking. The files you compress and the App's settings stay on your Mac.
None. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. The App contains no analytics, no advertising frameworks, and no sign-up or login.
To create an archive, the App reads only the files and folders you explicitly choose — via the Finder right-click ("Clean ZIP with NeatZip…"), drag & drop, or the system open/save panel — and writes the resulting .zip to the location you choose. All of this happens entirely on your Mac. Your files are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
Your preferences are stored only on your device using standard macOS storage (within the app sandbox where applicable), and are never sent to our servers. These include:
The Mac App Store version of the App makes no network connections and works fully offline.
The version distributed directly (outside the App Store) checks for updates using the Sparkle framework, which connects to GitHub to retrieve update information and download new versions. These are standard web requests handled by GitHub; we do not collect personal information through them. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for how GitHub handles such requests.
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
