These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of NeatZip ("the App") provided by 10HALF LLC ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

The App is a macOS utility for creating clean ZIP archives — archives that do not contain macOS-only metadata such as __MACOSX, .DS_Store, or ._* files. You can create archives via the Finder right-click Service or by drag & drop, and optionally protect them with a ZipCrypto or AES-256 password. The App creates ZIP files only; it does not extract them. The App is provided free of charge and contains no advertising and no in-app purchases.

2. Prohibited Activities

• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law
• Unauthorized copying, modification, or redistribution (the source code may be publicly viewable, but all rights are reserved)
• Using the App for any illegal purpose, including creating archives whose contents you do not have the right to distribute
• Any activity we deem inappropriate

3. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights related to the App, including its design, name, and code, belong to us. Making the source code publicly viewable does not grant any license to redistribute, resell, or create derivative works.

4. Disclaimers

• The App is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that it is error-free or that the archives it produces are free of defects.
• Always keep your original files. We recommend verifying important archives can be opened before deleting the originals.
• ZipCrypto is a legacy method offered for compatibility and provides only weak protection; it is not suitable for sensitive data. Use AES-256 for stronger encryption.
• You are responsible for managing your passwords. If you lose the password for an encrypted archive, its contents cannot be recovered.
• We are not liable for any damages, including data loss, arising from the use of the App, except as required by law.

5. Service Changes

We may modify or discontinue the App without prior notice.

6. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms as needed. Updated Terms become effective upon posting on this page.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
